  • Post Concrete Care

The idea is to keep concrete saturated for the first almost 25-28 days. During the first week, it is necessary to keep spraying water at least 5-10 times a day or as often as possible. If you cannot water it as much, it is recommended to keep it covered so it keeps absorbing the moisture, keeps the water from evaporating, and keeps it well hydrated. If the concrete is not watered as much or covered to retain the moisture, it dries too rapidly, and reaches less than half its potential design strength.

  • Preparing Floor for Tiling

Underlayment is something you put on top of your substrate to prepare it for tiling. A cement subfloor provides a great base for tiling. This process must be taken care of in the following steps:

    • Clean
    • Dry
    • Patch
    • Level

Patching refers to covering small holes and gaps in the concrete. Use floor leveling compound for large holes or flaws in your cement floor. The compound is a cement-based material that is thick enough to stay where it needs to be, but also flows well to fill in depressions to ensure your floor is flat. After ensuring your concrete surface is level (the next step) apply a concrete sealer.

  • Building Construction Basics

Constructing any building is a complete project and must be initiated with a proper plan for the processes, costs, timelines, expected results and risks, etc. It is important to take into account what the purpose of the building is which can affect intricate details such as where the building faces, room layouts, lighting, power availability, etc.

A budget for unexpected happenings must be accounted for while following the complete construction process including:

  • Mixing the right amount of concrete

Concrete has to be one of the most essential building materials used in the construction of buildings, roads, bridges, dams, etc. It is a composite material consisting of cement, water, gravel, sand or rock. To have a suitable grade of concrete it is necessary to mix the right amount of ingredients. The safest bet is four-two-one; four-part crushed rock, two parts sand, and one part cement. This might be the safest bet but it is not the exact proportion needed every time. In case of the requirement of more strength, more rock is added. For more degree of workability, more cement or sand can be added. Mixing of concrete can be done either by hand or by a machine (preferred or larger constructions)
